21 Days Makes a Habit

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a great week so far. I am officially 22 days, on my 23rd day, through the 75 Hard Challenge. After I got to thinking about it, I wondered if the whole 21 days makes a habit thing was true. And…it kinda is.

The whole challenge really is about creating lasting changes and habits. It challenges the mental side of your body to continue those habits and turn them into a routine. Let’s take the daily workout – I’m doing the modified version which is just one outside workout per day. And honestly, I actually look forward to them. It’s not necessarily something I am excited about but it’s something that just has to be done. I could probably not do it and would be just fine. Do I have the best workout every day? No. But I get in at least 45 minutes of walking, running, or something else (I’ve started implementing some squats, lunges, resistance bands, etc.). The two things I have trouble with are daily progress photos and remembering to read the 10 pages. I have gotten into bed for the day, look over and see the book, and be like oh crap, let me read. I think the photos are hard to remember because, I’m not a huge fan of daily photos because it feels vain but I have to remember it’s really for the before and after. If I had really thought about it I could stand in the same spot for every picture and then make a video but, here we are.

I am down 6lbs as of Monday morning, which is awesome. I’m still slightly disappointed with how slow the weight is coming off however I know if it comes off slow it will come back slow. I am still trying to figure out why I haven’t obviously gotten into ketosis yet and haven’t lost much weight. I know I am eating a few things I really shouldn’t be but I think I’m eating too many carbs in the day and not paying attention. I also am certain it’s portion and calorie control – I’ve never been great at either. But I just have to watch it a little more closely.

I have some recipes coming – sorry, I have been SUPER lazy with cooking (mainly cleaning the sink and dishes !) but I have some good ones coming. In the meantime, check out my recent IG post on the whipped coffee trend – here .
